Riding a motorbike in Koh Chang could be dangereux : inexperienced drivers , people driving on the wrong side , slippery roads etc
Accidents are very frequent, with deaths, unfortunately, quite common. The mountains between Kai Bae and bang bao have some very difficult ascents, descents, curves and hairpins and are particularly dangerous as the hills become very slippery when it 's raining
If you feel unsafe driving a motorbike on the island- or if your group or familly has more than 2 members - or baby or older people you may consider to rent a car during your stay in koh chang
This is a good choice for exploring the island by yourself , bearing in mind that Bang bao ( west coast south )to Salak Phek ( East coast ) is a near 100km there and back,
